Welcome to Corktree Research Corktree Reseach is a just an expression of an idea I have had for many years about making available much of the material I have in my personal library and notes available for those interested in some of the same things I'm interested in -- particularly the history of motor sports as well as aviation and military history.
The name Corktree was chosed after my favorite children's story, Ferdinand the Bull, written by Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson. Like Ferdinand, I too once sat on a bee, so to speak, and many confused my actions with something else and I ended up living a different life that I could have ever imagined. Like Ferdinand, all I've ever really wanted to do is sit under a corktree and smell the flowers..... |

I will be placing bits and pieces of motor racing history and other odds and ends on racing somewhere on this page. I hope that it will also include my never ending saga, my magnum opus, Case History. Case History is my futile attempt to record for posterity the various chassis numbers and other arcane data I have dug up over the years. |
